Tea Leaves: Romo Will Not Start Opener, Garrett Subterfuge

This morning, Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett refused to rule out Tony Romo for the opener.  This is simply subterfuge. Reading the Media Tea Leaves- our term for aggregating opinions from veteran voices in the media and NFL- Romo is out and we’ll see a surgical date soon.  Gifted punching bag David Carr described his own recovery trajectory after the EXACT SAME INJURY yesterday and the short term outlook is grim. We’d be surprised if Romo is tying his own shoes- literally- right now. Garrett’s remarks are simply an experienced coach’s attempt to force his early season opponents to have to prepare for TWO potential starters. But there’s little doubt Dak Prescott will be the man with the star on his helmet and the bullet on his chest for the opener.   http://ebay.to/2bZNnR5
